The Scoop on Cyberpunk: What’s it all About?

So, like, you play as this character V who’s teamed up with Jackie to swipe some tech from Arasaka Corp. But things go haywire, and Jackie dies. V gets left for dead by their shady employer. But he survives (maybe thanks to some chip of immortality) and now has Johnny Silverhand’s ghost haunting them.

Depending on how you start the game, V works for a corporate guy. This guy is either a nomad traveling to Night City or a streetwise criminal. Each scenario has its own unique storyline.

If you start as a corpo, you’ll be sent to take out a rival corporate bigwig but get foiled by Arasaka. You and Jackie manage to evade capture. But V’s contract gets canceled, leaving them with almost nothing.

If you start as a nomad, V’s ride breaks down, and they have to get it fixed before making their way to Night City. Along the way, V needs to snag a cryo-container from Arasaka. It’s supposed to have something valuable inside. But it turns out to be a freakin’ iguana!

As a street kid, V’s tasked with stealing a fancy car. However, Jackie shows up to steal it too. Cops bust in, and the two get caught. An Arasaka employee orders the cops to take them out, but luckily V and Jackie managed to get away.

So yeah, it’s all pretty intense, and there’s a lot more to the story, but that’s the gist of it.

Juicy gameplay!

Cyberpunk is an intense game where you can customize your character to fit your style of play. There are quests and missions you can complete in a ton of different ways. Furthermore, there are non-English speaking characters in Night City.

The game was originally supposed to be single-player, but they’re working on a multiplayer mode. There’s also sweet dynamic weather and a day/night cycle.

You play in first-person view, and there’s a sick combat system with guns. You can also have melee weapons and implants. You can even use combat stimulants to get extra boosts, like speed. When you’re driving, you can switch to a third-person view.

Moreover, your character has attributes that you can level up. Plus, you can select skills and perks. There are five attributes: Body, Cool, Intelligence, Reflexes, and Technical Ability.

In addition, when you’re creating your character, you can pick a gender and customize all kinds of stuff like boobs, butts, and genitals. You can also choose a voice and add scars, tattoos, and piercings. There are even different background stories to pick from to fully flesh out your character.

You can also drive vehicles and interact with them like you would in real life. You can also fast-travel to different spots you’ve unlocked.

What Does the Game Look Like?

The Graphis looks freaking awesome on PC! Seriously, Night City is hands down the coolest modern/futuristic city I’ve ever seen in a game. It’s so pretty that I could just walk around and stare at the scenery all day. Console players might have had a rough time with it at first. But now it’s a feast for the eyes, and I’ve been snapping pics left and right to capture its beauty.

How smoothly does it run? (performance/Stability)

If you’re lucky enough to have a badass PC or a fancy new console, Cyberpunk 2077 might just blow your mind with its stunning graphics and futuristic cityscape. But for us mere mortals, well, it’s a bit of a different story.

You see, I tried to dive into Night City and get lost in its neon-lit streets and shady alleys. But the game just wouldn’t let me. It froze and crashed on me more times than I can count, ruining any chance I had at feeling like a badass cyberpunk.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, there are some cool moments in there. Like when you get your new eyeball put in by a sketchy ripper doc or meet up with a dude named Takemura at a diner. But even those scenes are marred by low-res graphics and wonky animations.

And if you try to speed through the city on foot or in a car, you’ll see the framerate drop faster than a hot potato. It’s not a good look, trust me.

But here’s the thing: despite all the bugs and glitches, I kind of had fun with it. I mean, yeah, it’s frustrating when the game crashes for the umpteenth time, but there’s also a certain charm to it. Like when your character gets stuck in a wall, or an NPC’s head disappears. It’s like a wacky, cyberpunk-themed comedy show.
